Associate Vice-President, ad interim (as of March 2017) & Officer-in-Charge, Associate Vice-President and Chief of Development Strategy, Strategy and Knowledge Department, International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), Rome, Italy. September 2016 to present.

Manage IFAD’s Strategy and Knowledge Department which requires acting as chief of development strategy, providing leadership in the areas of research, impact evaluation, knowledge management, global engagement and strategic planning, supervising two divisions of 35 staff and consultants, and planning and allocating a departmental budget.

Director, Research and Impact Assessment Division, International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), Rome, Italy. September 2015 to present.

Manage IFAD’s research activities and impact evaluations of IFAD-supported projects which requires developing the research and impact evaluation agendas, working to improve development effectiveness at IFAD, supervising approximately 20 staff, and planning and allocating the divisional budget.

Professor, American University, Department of Economics, Washington, DC. August 2004 to August 2015 (Associate Professor 2004-2013, tenured 2010).

Position included research, teaching, student supervision, and academic service.

Technical consultant, Inter-American Development Bank, Office of Strategic Planning and Development Effectiveness, Washington, DC. October 2008 to August 2015 (sabbatical August 2010-July 2011).

Provided technical support for the creation of unit focusing on impact evaluation and in conducting impact evaluations of IDB-funded projects including teaching courses on impact evaluation, writing impact evaluation guidelines, designing and conducting impact evaluations.

Position in the loan operations section of the IDB that required preparing loans linked to promoting agricultural and rural development in the region.
